Title: Establishes Employment Restrictions for Minors
Vote to pass a bill that establishes employment restrictions for minors in the state of Florida.
Prohibits minors 15 or younger from working before 7:00 a.m or after 7:00 p.m when school is scheduled the following day (Sec. 1).
Establishes that minors 15 years of age or younger may not work in any gainful occupation for more than 6 consecutive days (Sec. 1).
Prohibits minors 15 years or younger from working more than 15 hours in any one week (Sec. 1).
Establishes that minors 15 years or younger may not work during holidays or summer vacations and may not be permitted to work before 7:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. (Sec. 1).
Requires that minors 15 years or younger not work more than 8 hours in one day or 40 hours in one week (Sec. 1).
Prohibits minors 16 and 17 years of age from working before 6:00 a.m. or after 11:00 p.m. when school is scheduled the following day (Sec. 1).
Establishes that any curfew adopted by a county or municipal ordinance must also include the aforementioned exceptions (Sec. 2).
Establishes the effective date as July 1, 2024 (Sec. 3).
