Vote to concur with senate amendments and final pass a bill that prohibits kids 16 and under from having social media accounts in the state of Florida.
Prohibits kids 16 and under from having social media accounts (Sec. 1).
Requires social media platforms to use independent organizations to conduct age verifications when new accounts are created (Sec. 1).
Requires the denial of accounts for individuals who do not verify their ages (Sec. 1).
Specifies the aforementioned organizations would be required to delete the data after ages are verified (Sec. 1).
Requires any third party who knowingly or recklessly performs age verification to be deemed as unfair and deceptive trade practices (Sec.1).
Authorizes the Department of Legal Affairs to collect a civil penalty of up to $50,000 per violation if a third party knowingly or recklessly performs age verification (Sec. 1).
Prohibits any commercial entirety from knowingly or intentionally publishing harmful material to minors on a website (Sec. 2).
