Vote to pass a bill that restructures the appeal process when the department denies an application so that it is done by the secretary of the department rather than an appeals board.
Authorizes an employer to appeal the denial of an employer’s application to the Department of Labor within 30 days of the issuance of determination (Sec. 1).
Requires the Department of Labor Secretary to conduct hearings of appeals which are exempt from the public meeting requirements to protect confidential health and privacy information (Sec. 1).
Specifies that a decision of this section is final and binding unless appealed to the Superior Court within 30 days of the date of the decision (Sec. 1).
