Title: Amends the Illinois Code of Corrections
Vote to pass a bill that amends the Illinois code of corrections to take into account time served in a county jail when awarding discretionary earned sentence credit.
Prohibits the Director of Corrections of the Director of Juvenile Justice from awarding a sentence credit to an inmate unless the inmate has served a minimum of 60 days of the sentence, including time served in a county jail (Sec. 5).
Requires that the rules and regulations provide for the recalculation of program credits awarded prior to July 1, 2021 at the rate set for such credits on and after July 1, 2021 (Sec. 5).
Requires that the rules and regulations provide for the award of sentence credit for qualifying days of engagement in eligible activities occurring prior to July 2, 2021 (Sec. 5).
