Title: Authorizes Permanent Mail-In-Voting
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes permanent mail-in-voting in both primary and general elections.
Authorizes voting by mail for non-presidential primary elections, general elections, and special elections for vacant positions (Sec. 1.5602A).
Requires electors to register one of the following (Sec. 1.5064Aa):
The last four digits of their social security number;
Driver’s license number; or
Nondriver identification card number.
Requires mail-in electors to complete and mail a signed and dated electronic or handwritten application by the department deadline (Sec. 1.5064Ab).
Requires the department to deliver pre-paid postage with a mail ballot, an envelope, and instructions for completing and returning the ballot between 7 and 30 days before an election, and within 3 days all ballots become available (Sec. 1.5605Ab).
