Title: Authorizes Pregnant Women to Vote by Mail if Their Due Date is 3 Weeks Before or After the Election
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes pregnant women to vote by mail if their due date is 3 weeks before or after the election date.
Establishes a qualified voter is eligible for early voting by mail if the voter (Sec. 2.a):
Has a sickness or physical condition that prevents the voter from appearing at the polling place on election day without a likelihood of needing personal assistance or of injuring the voter’s health; or
Is expecting to give birth within 3 weeks before or after election day.
Specifies the following does not constitute sufficient cause to entitle a voter to vote (Sec. 2.b):
A lack of transportation;
A sickness that does not prevent the voter from appearing at the polling place on election day without a likelihood of needing personal assistance or of injuring the voter’s health; or
A requirement to appear at the voter’s place of employment on election day.
Requires an applicant to affirmatively indicate that they agree with the statement prescribed to be eligible for an early voting ballot by mail (Sec. 2-3).
Requires an application for a ballot to be voted by mail on the ground of disability to include a statement indicating the voter has a disability which prevents them from appearing at a polling place (Sec. 3.c).
