After several congressional votes and broad bipartisan support in the House and Senate, U.S. Representative Kristi Noem's anti-human trafficking measure has become law.
President Barack Obama signed the sweeping anti-trafficking legislation May 29.
The Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act (S.178) represents one of the largest anti-trafficking measures passed by Congress in a decade. Noem says the new law will help protect thousands of at-risk youth, and it will also lift survivors of the trade to safety and recovery.
