Roger Williams Receives Perfect Conservative Rating

Press Release

Date: May 13, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas), a small business owner and a member of the House Financial Services Committee, today announced that the American Conservative Union (ACU) has awarded him the ACU Award for Conservative Excellence for a 100 percent rating in their newly released 2014 Ratings of Congress.

"While it is an honor to receive this award, it is my first-hand experience as a job creator that truly motivates me to shrink the size of government," said Williams. "The Obama Administration's policies of one-size fits all regulations, costly compliance standards and picking of winners and losers has destroyed fair competition in what is supposed to be a free market. The president and his agenda are responsible for the lowest labor participation rate in almost 30 years and the ever growing $18 trillion national debt that will inevitably and unfairly be passed on to our children and their children."

ACU, the self-described "oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization in the nation," hosts the annual CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) in Washington, D.C. Williams was one of only 16 Members of Congress, and one of two Texans, to receive a perfect conservative rating.
