Smith Introduces Bill to Repeal Dodd-Frank Act

Statement

Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today made the following statement after introducing H.R. 171, to repeal the Dodd-Frank Act.

"The Dodd-Frank Act has unnecessarily expanded the federal government, and hurt consumers and job-creating businesses. The law created a duplicative, unaccountable bureaucracy, mandated numerous burdensome and unrelated regulations, and made permanent taxpayer funded bailouts for banks deemed "too big to fail.'

"After speaking with Nebraskans across numerous industries, it is clear we should scrap "Obamacare for Banks' and start over with legislation which ensures businesses large and small can create jobs through innovation without seeking the blessing of a federal banking czar."
