Today, Representative Steven Horsford (NV-4) released the following statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to decline hearing appeals from five states seeking to prohibit same-sex marriage:

"Today's Supreme Court decision is a major victory for equality; it is a decision that affirms the freedom of same-sex couples who simply wish to marry the person they love. Progress on marriage equality will continue to sweep across the county. Once again, it's time for government to catch up with public opinion in America. I hope that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals follows suit and strikes down Nevada's ban on same-sex marriage."
