Kurtz Out-Fundraises 18 Year Incumbent with Individual Donors

Two things are clear from tonight's fundraising reports in Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District - D.C. Special interests love Ron Kind and actual Wisconsinites favor Tony Kurtz.

Kind raised nearly 80% of his money this quarter from Political Action Committees - P.A.C.s. Kurtz, the political newcomer, outraised the 18 year incumbent with individual donors by nearly 20% - $102,277.40 to $85,722.04.

"Tony's donors are our friends and neighbors," said Kurtz campaign manger Jeff Schultz. "Kind's are the special interests - and you better believe they expect something in return."

Kurtz, whose TV ads have been running in the district for over a week now, believes that momentum is on his side.

"People want to know their representative in Congress works for them, not the special interests" said Kurtz. "They want a representative focused on creating jobs, fixing our healthcare system, and balancing the budget. That's just not what you get with Ron Kind.
