Issue Position

I am adamantly Pro-Life. I believe life begins at the moment of conception and as such should be afforded equal protection under the law. My record is clear on this issue, I believe in the God given right of the unborn child to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That is why I was a proud co-sponsor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act of 2013, HB1037 banning abortions in AR after 20 weeks of pregnancy, and the Arkansas Human Heartbeat Protection Act of 2013, SB134 banning abortions in AR after the first trimester once a heartbeat is detected. (See links below) After we overrode a governor's veto on both bills, these new laws make Arkansas one of the most Pro-Life states in the country.
