Times have been tough for the typical Montana worker. Many are just happy to have jobs, much less raises.
Montana's Taxes are 16th Highest in the US
Montana's median household income is 44th

Legislators voted to give big bonuses to public employees, a 14% increase. Where do they think that money comes from? Private businesses have to pay more taxes, which means more private sector jobs are lost so that government workers can get raises. That's not fair.

Many living in this area have had their families split apart due to the slump in the housing and job markets. For example, one family member must travel to eastern Montana to work while their family stays here because they can't sell their homes.
