Issue Position: Our Government

Issue Position

In Idaho, small government and individual freedoms are the utmost priority and must be protected. As Thomas Jefferson stated, "The purpose of the government is to enable the people of a nation to live in safety and happiness. Government exists for the interests of the governed, not for the governors." It is my firm belief that our government should not intrude on the day-to-day life of Idahoans. We need servant-leaders who work to ensure that personal and civil liberties are upheld and protected. I view the role of a Senator as one of service, not of authority, and I believe it is critical for a citizen legislator to be willing to work alongside their constituents.
