Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, a holiday that marks the end of Ramadan:

"A happy and blessed Eid to all. The celebration of the breaking of the fast signals the closing of the holy month of Ramadan and the end of fasting from sunrise to sunset.

Muslims around the world will be celebrating peace and unity today after the month of Ramadan. I hope you'll join me in reflecting on the role we play in making the world a better place, regardless of your faith or heritage. My thoughts and prayers this Eid are with those struggling for freedom and equality all over the world, and with the advocates and activists that work with them to end their struggle. Peace and blessings be upon them, and all of you. Eid Mubarak."
