Mary understands that people need to feel safe in their neighborhoods and business districts. Mary will seek increased allocations for community policing and to double the number of after-school and summer recreational, green job training and employment programs for youth. Mary will also bring community leaders and associations together to help provide the supports that our Seniors need to stay active and age in place.

In the 2012 Session, Mary created Electronic Harassment (HB 8), a bill to prohibit any form of electronic harassment, not just harassment through e-mail. The bill was signed into law April 10, 2012.

Mary sponsored Username and Password Privacy Protection (HB 964), a bill to prohibiting employers from requesting that their employees disclose their username, password, or account information to them. This bill was signed into law May 2, 2012.
