Lujan Grisham Announces $1.8M for Community Health Center

Press Release

Today, Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01) announced $1.8 million in federal funds is available to First Nations Community HealthSource. The annual funds allow the organization to continue operating their health care clinic, which offers primary care, dental, and behavioral services to largely underserved and unserved people in Albuquerque.

"This health care center provides a great service to those in our community who would otherwise not receive adequate care," said Rep. Lujan Grisham. "These funds let them expand their holistic approach and serve more New Mexicans."

"First Nations Community HealthSource is very pleased to receive this funding from HRSA because it will allow our health center to continue to serve individuals who are un- and underserved in southeast Albuquerque where the need for affordable, available and accessible health services is significant," said Linda Son Stone, CEO of First Nations Community HealthSource. "We plan to use the HRSA funds to continue to provide integrated and comprehensive health services that address the physical, social, spiritual and social needs of our community members."

Starting in 1972, First Nations Community HealthSource has focused on serving American Indians and other underserved populations, including the homeless community.
