Rokita: Gabriella Miller Achieved Victory for Children and Families

Representative Todd Rokita today released the following statement following statement after the President signed into law the Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act, H.R. 2019, legislation cosponsored by Rokita:

"The story of Gabriella Miller is one of courage. Gabriella inspired bipartisan action to help research, treat, and cure pediatric diseases and disorders, not unlike the disorder my son Teddy has, Angelman Syndrome. Gabriella was able to achieve a victory, even after her passing, for children like her and Teddy.

Children who have these diseases and disorders, and their families, deserve the support of everyone in Washington, and across our country. Funding responsible research is a way in which government truly does good for its people. I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to make sure those that are truly are most vulnerable always have a voice," said Rokita.
