Griffin: House Passes Bill to Support Pediatrician Training

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after the House passed the Children's Hospital GME Support Reauthorization Act (S. 1557):

"Arkansas Children's Hospital is a world-class medical facility that does vital work each and every day, including training new pediatricians. Their education program is directly impacted by this bill, and as a strong believer in medical research and training, I'm proud to once again support this legislation."

S. 1557 reauthorizes through FY2018 federal funding for graduate medical education (GME) residency training programs in children's hospitals.

The House passed its version of the bill, H.R. 297, with Rep. Griffin's support on February 4, 2013.
