Issue Position

I am, and always have been, pro-life. I believe every life, including the unborn, has dignity, and my voting record in Congress will always reflect that belief. I have consistently been supportive of banning abortion with the exceptions of rape, incest, and endangerment to the life of the mother.

During my time in Congress, I have opposed public funding for abortion. That is why I co-sponsored H.R. 7, the No Tax Payer Funding for Abortion Act, which would establish a permanent government-wide ban on taxpayer funded abortions, including prohibiting abortion subsidies in the President's healthcare law. I was proud to support this bill which passed the House.

As a wife and mother, I am a strong supporter of protecting traditional marriage and family. The American people, through their elected representatives, have defined marriage as a union between one man and one woman. I will continue to support preserving traditional family values and vote to protect them.

As a country, we need to work to protect the most vulnerable among us, including the unborn. We should continue to support legislation that values life, protects the innocent, and preserves the traditional family values that are so important to our country's past and our future.
