Texas must begin to assert its state sovereignty by discontinuing its reliance on federal handouts. For far too long Texas has allowed itself to be dictated by strings attached to federal money. We must also pass legislation to defend Texas from federal intrusion into our lives and businesses in areas such as healthcare and the EPA. As a member of the Federalist Society, I actively support efforts to see the original intent of the Framers' restored and believe the Tenth Amendment's reservation of power to the States is the key to restoring States' Rights Federalism.
