Griffin Leading Capitol Tours for Constituents During Shutdown

Statement

Date: Oct. 8, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement regarding his ongoing effort to reopen the federal government:

"As I have said for weeks, shutting down the federal government is terrible policy, and I continue to work with both Republicans and Democrats to find a way to open the federal government. Constituents who visit Washington during the shutdown shouldn't be denied access to the Capitol Building, and that's why I'm leading tours personally. If you live in my district and will be visiting our nation's capital in the near future, please let me know. I'd be honored to show you around."

As a result of the government shutdown, public tours of the U.S. Capitol Building have been cancelled, but tours led by Members of Congress are permitted. Constituents interested in scheduling a tour during the shutdown are encouraged to email Tim.Griffin@mail.House.gov or call (202) 225-2506.
