Issue Position

With far too many families and children becoming victims in every neighborhood and school, now is the time to get serious about preventing gun violence. It's too easy for dangerous people to get powerful, military-style weapons that were designed to kill as many people as possible in seconds, putting our kids and even our police officers at risk. Karen will fight for common-sense reforms that protect people from gun violence, including universal background checks and preventing the resale of guns to criminals. This just makes sense and Karen is fed up with Congress continuing to be cowed by the gun lobby.

We also need to expand and improve access to mental health care, particularly for teens and troubled youth, as a further preventative measure.
