Griffin Releases New Mayflower Pre-Spill Reports and Data After Receiving from PHMSA

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement in releasing 1) the pre-spill 2010 Pegasus pipeline in-line inspection report that covers the stretch of pipeline from Doniphan, MO to Conway; 2) the pre-spill 2010 Pegasus pipeline in-line inspection report that covers the stretch of pipeline from Conway to Corsicana, TX; and 3) pre-spill 2013 in-line inspection preliminary data:
"Earlier today, I received two reports from PHMSA that deal with the pre-spill 2010 in-line inspection of the Pegasus pipeline. As I told PHMSA officials when I met with them earlier this month, information from the pre-spill inspections should be accessible to everyone, and that's why I'm releasing the 2010 reports and 2013 preliminary data on my website. While I am still going through the reports' findings, I plan to cover all of this information with technical experts soon, and will continue to do everything I can to make sure the victims of this tragedy are made whole and the drinking water for 400,000 Arkansans remains safe."
At Rep. Griffin's request, PHMSA provided reports of the 2010 in-line inspections and a copy of the pre-spill 2013 preliminary in-line inspection data for the section of the Pegasus Pipeline that runs through Arkansas. The first report is the run and summary of results of the pre-spill 2010 in-line inspection from Doniphan, MO to Conway (120 pages). The second report covers the results from the stretch of pipeline from Conway to Corsicana, TX (630 pages). The 2013 preliminary in-line inspection data covers the area of the pipeline spanning from Conway to Foreman, AR. PHMSA redacted specific geographic information from the reports and data due to national security concerns.
Earlier this month, Griffin released a copy of the post-spill metallurgical report on the cause of the Pegasus pipeline rupture. In addition, Griffin requested PHMSA release the 2006 hydrostatic test conducted on the Pegasus pipeline.
Since the oil spill on March 29, Griffin has toured the cleanup site several times and remains in constant contact with residents and representatives of the Unified Command, and has also called for relocating the Pegasus pipeline away from Lake Maumelle.
