It's a definitely a unique way to get to know an Arkansas Congressman.

Representing the 2nd Congressional district, Representative Tim Griffin is now mixing politics and motor-cross.

Griffin is the co-chair of the Congressional Motorcycle Caucus.

He released a statement saying:

"I am always looking for ways to serve better the folks I represent, and a key part of that effort is to hear what's on people's minds and update them on the issues they care about. I've held tele-town halls, 'Sweet Tea with Tim' listening events, and even have a Pinterest account. So when a constituent suggested holding a motorcycle event, I thought it was a great idea.

"Ridin' with your Rep is a chance for folks to motocross and trail ride with me and share their views on issues affecting our sport such as unreasonable limits on riding areas and ethanol mandates that harm motorcycle and ATV engines. It's free, and it's going to be fun!"

The first of the Ridin' with your Rep series of events will be held at the newly constructed North Little Rock ORV Park on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. This free event is open to the public, but registration is required to ride, and can be completed by calling (501) 324-5941 or visiting a special motorcross section on Griffin's website.

Motocross, dirt bike and ATV riders are welcome to participate.

In addition to visiting with Griffin, participants will have the chance to meet four-time National Enduro Champion Russell Bobbitt, as well as representatives from the American Motorcycle Association and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.

Griffin also plans to host a street bike Ridin' with your Rep event.

May is Motorcycle Awareness Month.
