Issue Position

In order to spur New Jersey's Green Economy, we recently introduced a bill which will provide tax credits for businesses that are making environmentally responsible investments. We have a history of sponsoring legislation that promotes the development of New Jersey's alternative energy sector and are assisting the State in becoming a national leader in utilizing modern energy sources as an engine to create new jobs. Our office also sponsored legislation to ban offshore drilling in New Jersey waters because of the inherent danger to New Jersey's tourism and fishing economy. In addition, we authored a bill which would reduce the amount of sulfur used in home heating fuel and ensure that our children continue to breathe clean air. Finally, in order to reduce our dependence on foreign oil we successfully passed a law to mandate that the State of New Jersey use alternative fuels in connection with State projects and services wherever financially responsible.
