Issue Position: Support the Right to Bear Arms

Issue Position

We all love and care about the victims of violence across America and their families. However, we cannot give in to those who want to make good law-abiding citizens defenseless by taking away our protective weapons.

It is never law-abiding citizens doing these horrible crimes.

I agree with the principle, "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws with have guns."

Those who are intent on spreading horror will find a way to get guns or other weapons to inflict damage regardless of whether they are legal or not.

A good example is September 11th, when criminals turned friendly jet airplanes into deadly missiles of destruction. We can't respond by outlawing American passenger jets.

I will listen to any reasonable effort to protect the public from dangerous and unstable individuals, but we must protect our Right to Bear Arms for good law abiding citizens.
