Senator John Hoeven, along with other community leaders, today spoke at the grand opening of Siena Court Assisted Living Facility at St. Catherine's Living Center. Hoeven said the new facility offers area seniors access to a state-of-the-art facility that provides high quality medical care and first rate modern amenities.

"The new Siena Court facility at St. Catherine's is a beautiful building that offers a wonderful place for many Wahpeton area senior citizens to call home," Hoeven said. "It is important that our senior citizens have the opportunity to remain in their communities, close to their families and friends, and St. Catherine's has consistently worked to make this option a reality by providing quality senior living options where residents enjoy a high quality of life and have access to the medical care and other services they may need. We remain committed to working to do all we can to support providers like St. Catherine's."

Following his remarks, the senator officially dedicated the new facility in a ribbon cutting ceremony. Other ceremony attendees included Kevin Greff, vice president of operations at Benedictine Health System; Steve Chies, senior vice president at Benedictine Health System and Fr. Dale Lagodinski of St. John's Catholic Church.

Last May, St. Catherine's broke ground to renovate and expand its current facility to create the new Siena Court assisted living center. The new two-story, 18,000-square-foot Siena Court has 32 bedrooms and offers a number of amenities, including 24-hour access to St. Catherine's expert nurses and staff. The $5 million center was funded through the Benedictine Health System and Living Services Foundation.

St. Catherine's Living Center is part of the Benedictine Health System. St. Catherine's provides a number of services, including outpatient therapy and short term rehabilitation, designed to help seniors remain in their homes and improve their quality of life.

Hoeven is a member of the Senate Rural Health Caucus.
