Congressman John Carney today released the following statement regarding the need for stricter gun laws in light of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School:
"The tragic killing of 20 children and six teachers in Connecticut last week is unfathomable. This is not the first time we've seen such carnage. To help protect our citizens, our children, and our law enforcement officials, we need to take serious action in Congress. I will continue to support efforts to immediately pass legislation to get extended magazine clips and military assault weapons off our streets and away from our classrooms."
