Why Won't Jenkins Talk About the Wall Street Who's Who?

Statement

Date: Sept. 27, 2012
Location: Topeka, KS

Today Congressional candidate Tobias Schlingensiepen issued the following statement:

Yesterday I reported that Congresswoman Jenkins has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from big banks and insurance companies while repeatedly voting against the 2nd District and for the interests of these wealthy corporations.

But her only response to these serious questions is to hide behind a statement from her campaign manager who claims her donors are little banks and credit unions. Goldman Sachs isn't a small town Kansas bank. With $6.6 billion in revenue in the 2nd quarter alone and offices in 30 countries, Goldman Sachs had already donated to Jenkins campaign five times by the middle of July.

Other Jenkins donors include a Who's Who of Wall Street and the finance industry like Citigroup, Bank of America, American Express, the Bank of New York Mellon, Capitol One Financial, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, US Bancorp, Wells Fargo and Co., Credit Suisse USA, FMR LLC PAC (Fidelity PAC), Mastercard and VISA.

Her donors include the Financial Services Roundtable, a lobbying group that represents the CEOs and top executives of the 100 largest integrated financial services companies. Her donors include CME Group, which owns the Dow Jones stock and financial indexes and is the world's largest derivatives exchange operator.

Is Congresswoman Jenkins so stuck in the Washington bubble she won't answer questions about her own record? Why is Congresswoman Jenkins hiding behind her campaign manager, Bill Roe? Can't she speak for herself?
