Julie On The Issue

A wise gentleman once told me that "town-life along the Snake River would dry up if agriculture was gone, but town-life along the Snake River would spring up if agriculture was present".

Agriculture, it's what drives our state's economy. Keeping family farms and ranches a viable way to make a living will be a challenge. With rising transportation costs, diminishing Idaho water rights, limited marketing opportunities and costly solutions to federal regulations, Idaho agricultural operations need legislators who will be vigilant in advocating for their essential needs.

Idaho's water rights will be challenged again not only within our state but to outside interests. Being watchful and creative in keeping and maintaining adequate water flow for our county is one of the duties of our legislators, but it cannot be done without the help of local residents. As your legislator I want to work with you to address this necessity.

We know that being good stewards of our land benefits all Idahoans. In Idaho we protect our land and natural resources. Extremist environmental and animal rights agendas have no place in our state. Environmental lawsuits are putting our ranchers and farmers out of business by increasing production costs and disallowing productivity. Idaho decision makers must be willing to do all they can to curb this extreme, destabilizing agenda.
