I joined Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) in introducing the Restoring Effective Environmental Protection (REEP) Act.
Agriculture

Dry conditions across the country, and in Idaho, continue to hit farmers hard. Earlier this month, I signed onto a letter to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson in support of waiving the corn-ethanol mandate for the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).
Foreign Affairs

I signed onto a letter, led by Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and Jim Risch (R-ID), to the Foreign Affairs Representative of the European Union, Baroness Ashton, regarding the designation of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.
Indian Affairs

I co-sponsored a resolution acknowledging November 2012 as Native American Heritage Month.
Natural Resources

The Water and Agriculture Technology Economic Revitalization (WATER) Act would allow mutual ditch and irrigation companies to exchange and lease water without jeopardizing their tax exempt status as 501(c)(12) non-profit organizations.
