End the Bust Tax Cuts for Millionaires

Statement

The GOP will raise taxes on the middle class if they can't keep tax breaks for the wealthy. That's 98 percent of families and 97 percent of small businesses that could see their tax breaks held hostage all in the interest of protecting millionaires, Big Oil, and corporations that ship jobs overseas. This election is about who you're for, and Republicans are for millionaires instead of the middle class and seniors.

The House Republicans' plan means the rich are getting richer and the middle class pays the price. That's not how we grow the economy. They already voted to drastically cut Medicare and raise health care costs for seniors by $6,400 a year in order to protect tax breaks for millionaires and corporations, and now they want to give people making more than $1 million a year another $130,000 tax break. They are willing to increase the average middle class taxpayer's taxes for a family of four by $2,200 just to protect their friends.

In Congress, I will fight for the middle class and make sure that the wealthy pay their fair share. Playing politics with peoples' lives has to stop now.
