Plummer Releases Statement on Obamacare Repeal Vote

Statement

Date: July 11, 2012

Jason Plummer, Republican Nominee for Illinois' 12th Congressional District, pledged to help repeal and replace Obamacare the day the House voted against the healthcare legislation in bipartisan fashion.

"I would vote to repeal Obamacare because I am going to Washington to focus on reducing the cost, improving the quality, and increasing access to healthcare for all Americans," Plummer said. "The President's irresponsible legislation did not address any of these serious issues with the healthcare system."

Plummer added that the President's healthcare legislation would continue to negatively affect Americans' lives until repealed.

"Obamcare is the largest tax increase on working families in our nation's history," Plummer said. "In addition, it guts $500 billion from Medicare for our seniors, puts bureaucrats in the middle of what should be family decisions, and is estimated to cost Americans 800,000 jobs in the midst of a recession.
