Tom Patton believes elected leaders have an obligation to boost Ohio's economic recovery by getting public spending under control and helping Ohio families and businesses keep more of their hard-earned tax dollars in tough economic times. That's why he voted for the passage of a balanced, two-year state budget that eliminated an initial $8 billion shortfall without raising taxes, included long-overdue reforms to costly programs such as Medicaid and prison operations, abolished Ohio's job-killing "death tax" and provided historic levels of property tax relief. Tom also fought for the largest income tax cut in Ohio history by providing a 21 percent across the board reduction for families and small businesses struggling in this tough economy.
