Noem Vows to Continue Fighting Health Care Law

Congresswoman Kristi Noem says she'll continue her battle against the President's historic health care overhaul following the US Supreme Court's decision to uphold a majority of it.

"The Supreme Court may have upheld the President's health care law, but I stand with the majority of Americans who oppose it," Noem said in a statement. "The President promised his health care law would lower costs, but they've only been pushed higher. Worse, this law reduces our ability to choose the doctors and health care plans that address our needs and cuts $500 billion from Medicare while empowering an unelected board of 15 bureaucrats to make health care decisions for seniors. In addition, this law adds to our already crippling debt that is leading us down the same destructive path we're seeing in Europe.

"I have voted 30 times to repeal, defund, or dismantle this law and will not stop fighting for full repeal. This law tells South Dakotans that the government knows what's best for their health care. I believe South Dakotans know what's best for their health care, and I will keep fighting to repeal this law and replace it with reforms that will increase quality, choices and affordability for the American people."
