ObamaCare is perhaps the most blatant attempt at socialism that has ever been attempted in our country. While there is no doubt that the medical system needs reform, market forces -- not more government mandates -- will help drive quality up and costs down. Programs like Medicare and Medicaid, while providing necessary services that must be continued, are operated at far too high a price, achieve far too little, and are economically unsustainable. Unless market based reforms are implemented, Texas taxpayers will increasingly bear the burden of spiraling healthcare costs.
