Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement regarding President Obama's announcement on marriage equality.

"President Obama's comments reflect a growing chorus of Americans who believe the time has come for marriage equality. Loving and committed same sex couples should be afforded access to the same legally recognized rights and benefits that I enjoy with my wife. We can no longer tolerate discrimination in our laws against any Coloradan or American based on sexual orientation."
