Landry Statement on Obamacare Anniversary

Statement

Date: March 23, 2012
Location: New Iberia, LA

Congressman Jeff Landry (R, LA-03), who declined his Congressional health care benefits, issued the following statement on the unfortunate two-year anniversary of President Obama signing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) into law:

"Two years ago, Washington politicians ignored the will of the American people and forced down their throats a government takeover of health care. Obamacare not only raised taxes and added more job-killing regulations, it also gave unelected government bureaucrats the power to make decisions on life and death. This rationing board controls the prices on Medicare, increasing the costs of health care and limiting the access of seniors care. You can't protect our greatest generation by denying them care that is why I cosponsored and voted for H.R. 5, a bill that repeals this death panel and curbs junk lawsuits. I also have voted over 20 times against the disastrous $2 trillion Obamacare. I hope the Supreme Court will preserve our liberties and protect our wallets by ruling Obamacare unconstitutional. I pledged to repeal Obamacare, and I won't stop until we do."
