Congressman Jeff Landry (R, LA-03) issued the following statement regarding today's H.J. Res. 77, the Resolution of Disapproval of Debt Limit Increase:

"The debt deal passed in August did nothing to cure Washington's addiction to spending. It jeopardized the security and pay of our military and ceded the people's elected representation to a committee of 12. The largest increase of debt in U.S. history could have been avoided and replaced with long-term solutions. I just wish my colleagues would have joined me in this fight when we had the real opportunity to do so in August."
