Congressman Landry Continues His Fight Against Obamacare - Signs Another Amicus Brief

Continuing his fight against the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act(Obamacare), Congressman Jeff Landry (Republican, New Iberia) joined 73 fellow Congressmen -- including Majority Leader Eric Cantor -- and the American Center for Law and Justice in filing an amicus brief today in support of the Florida lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Obamacare.

"As I have said many times before and as the courts have previously ruled, the health care law enacted last year by the President and his liberal colleagues violates the Constitution," said Landry. "The individual mandate, forcing individuals to purchase health insurance, clearly defies the Commerce Clause."

"As we did in March on the Virginia case, we're asking today that the U.S. Court of Appeals to uphold Judge Vinson's ruling and declare the entire law unconstitutional," continued Landry. "Today's filing is another important step in preserving our personal liberties and properly reforming health care."

"I am hopeful that the appeals court will do the right thing and end the job-killing, government-run health care law," concluded Landry.
