While we are in a dire economic situation right now, we must resist the urge to imperil those Americans that have spent their entire lives working towards the promise of the American Dream. Seniors in Arkansas and across the nation deserve dignity and comfort when they retire, and we cannot break the promise of Social Security that has been an asset to our country for 75 years. We must protect the Social Security trust fund from out-of-control spending, and make sure that we maintain the current level of benefits for our seniors. David Whitaker will never seek to privatize Social Security, or put it in the hands of the Wall Street fat cats that wrecked our economy.
