Congressman Chris Murphy (CT-5) released the following statement on Judge Royce Lamberth's decision to block federal funding of stem cell research.

"The debate over stem cell research should be over - it is the biggest medical advancement in decades, and it should be practiced in a responsible manner to save lives. This ruling imperils the hopes of those with terminal illnesses and their loved ones, and it's a tremendous setback for the country's scientific research capabilities going forward. We have to work together to pass a common sense bipartisan stem cell research bill to provide long-term financial support, as we have done here in Connecticut."
