Issue Position

Georgia is the most beautiful state in the nation. We have it all; majestic mountains, sunny seashore, open farm land, abundant forests and sophisticated metropolitan living. I appreciate what we have in South Georgia and will fight to protect our heritage and lifestyle. Our water supply is one of our most vital resource and our long-term plans must include expanding existing reservoirs and creating new ones. I look forward to working on legislation that will address these issues. I support common-sense environmental policies that will help to reduce pollution while preserving our precious open spaces. I realize that without action now, future generations will be left to clean up the mess we leave. I oppose a national cap and trade program because of the higher costs that families and businesses would incur.
