Strengthening families is at the core of everything we do.

South Dakota has always been my home. I grew up in Bridgewater with wonderful parents who placed a high value on education. My Mom began her teaching career in country schools and was a great example of life-long learning, earning her Bachelor's degree at age 62. I graduated from SDSU with a degree in Mathematics and taught Math and Economics at Nettleton College for several years. After leaving the classroom to raise our three sons, education continued to be my focus as a math tutor; a member of the Sioux Falls Catholic School Board; an advisory board member of a national parent legislative network; a reading mentor; and a Junior Achievement classroom volunteer. After serving for 6 years as Chair of the Education Committee in the S.D. House of Representatives, I now serve on the South Dakota Board of Education.

Greg and I have been married for 39 years. Since graduating from SDSU, we have lived in Sioux Falls where Greg has been involved in the insurance industry. Our belief and investment in Sioux Falls has expanded to our next generation with our family's ownership of the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Looks Market, both positive examples of the enthusiasm and loyalty of the people of Sioux Falls and South Dakota. Our family certainly agrees with Forbes magazine's designation of Sioux Falls as the "best small metro area for business and careers."

We've been your neighbors in District 13 for 38 years. Our three sons, Robb, Mike, and Nick have all grown up in this neighborhood filled with great schools, great businesses, great hospitals, and great neighbors. Three wonderful daughters-in-law and five unbelievably beautiful grandchildren have joined our family. We are active members of St. Mary parish and serve as board members on the foundation for the Catholic diocese of Sioux Falls.

I was also privileged to serve as a board member for Dakotabilities which serves the developmentally disabled. Currently I serve on the board for the Sioux Falls Junior Achievement and as board chair for the Sioux Falls Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority.
