In the short-term, we must secure our borders, provide employers with a method to ensure all workers are here legally, and punish employers that hire workers who have no legal status in the U.S. We must work together to humanely bring the people that are already here out of the shadows and into a legal status. In the long-term, we must improve our relations with Mexico and assist Mexico in its economic development.
