Rep. Allen sponsored Act 1301, which creates the Arkansas Alternative Energy Commission. This commission will study the needs and impacts of various forms of alternative energy, such as solar power, bioenergy and wind power, on the economic future of Arkansas. By investing in a healthier, smarter workforce, businesses will have a powerful incentive to locate in Arkansas. In an effort to save vital manufacturing jobs, the General Assembly provided manufacturers with a tax break on energy consumption.
