Steve Tarvin Responds to Dalton Daily Citizen's Endorsement

Statement

Date: May 5, 2010

Today businessman candidate for Congress Steve Tarvin responded to the Dalton Daily Citizen's endorsement in the District 9 Congressional race.

In a letter to the Dalton Daily Citizen, Tarvin said, I'm Steve Tarvin, and I've been a textile businessman in Chickamauga all of my adult life. As a candidate for the 9th Congressional District, I am disappointed that the newspaper from a textile town like Dalton didn't endorse a textile businessman. I have personally experienced all that North Georgia businesses are facing today: I have created jobs, signed thousands of paychecks, balanced the budget of a $20 million company, paid millions of dollars in utility bills, dealt with government agencies and regulations, and paid over $21 million to provide healthcare for my employees. I have successfully managed a textile company, while 80% of my competitors have failed. I'm nationally recognized as an honest, common sense business leader.

If the citizens of North Georgia are happy with politics as usual and would prefer a political resume over common sense experience, then I am not the man for the job. However, if you want the experience that you, your parents, and grandparents have been wanting in Washington, then I am the candidate for you. Roy Bowen, the President of the Georgia Textile Manufacturing Association, said "I have every confidence that Steve Tarvin's business background, record of community and civic service, integrity and understanding of the needs of Georgia's and America's manufacturers and its people, ideally suit him for this important position of responsibility." I ask the voters of the 9th district to make this not about politics but about the future of America. Send a Businessman to Washington May 11th.

Sincerely,

Steve Tarvin
9th District Congressional Candidate
