Wyoming Senators Comment on Honor Flight Visit

Press Release

Date: Sept. 24, 2008
Location: Washington, DC

Following their visit with Wyoming World War II veterans at the national World War II Memorial today, U.S. Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, R-Wyo., offered the following comments:

"I had a very proud American moment today talking to Wyoming veterans while standing next to the very monuments built to honor their service. It was an honor visiting with them and getting a chance to thank them personally for their service. They risked it all to protect our country during one of history's greatest struggles," Enzi said. "I am pleased they had the opportunity to travel to our nation's capital and see the memorials that were built to remind anyone who sees them of their sacrifice."

"Wyoming's veterans uphold the proud American tradition of heroism and sacrifice. My father and my wife Bobbi's father both served in World War II. It was a privilege to meet these Wyoming heroes in the nation's capital. I am glad they were able to see for themselves the imposing World War II Memorial. A memorial that was built in their honor by an ever grateful nation," Barrasso said.
