Jason Perillo has served as the Chief of Echo Hose Ambulance since January of 2004. A Shelton native, Jason has been a volunteer with Echo Hose Ambulance since 1999. As Chief, Jason's roles include establishment of overall strategy and vision for the organization, handling all external, press and public relations, managing the organization's reporting relationship with the City of Shelton EMS Commission, and overseeing the budget process.

In addition to his EMS work, Jason is an Alderman representing Shelton's Second Ward. He has also served the City of Shelton as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Apportionment and Taxation and as a member of the City's Planning and Zoning Commission. He continues to serve as Chairman of the P&Z Subcommittee on Downtown Redevelopment.

In addition to his public service in government and his role as Chief of EMS in Shelton, Jason also holds an ex-officio seat on the City of Shelton's EMS Commission and is on the Board of Directors of Valley Emergency Medical Services, the regional paramedic provider serving the Lower Naugatuck Valley. Jason also serves the community on the Housatonic Council, Boy Scouts of America Advisory Board, as a Corporator for the Birmingham Group and the Parent Child Resource Center, as a member of Shelton's Coalition to Stop Underage Drinking and as a member of the Valley Substance Abuse Action Council. Jason is also the current Co-Chairman of the Shelton Relay for Life, an overnight event which takes place in early June each year that benefits the American Cancer Society.

Appointed by Governor M. Jodi Rell to a seat on the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority Board of Directors, his appointment was confirmed unanimously by the Connecticut Legislature in June of 2007.

A frequent keynote speaker at Shelton Youth Service Bureau events, he has been active in that organization's efforts to curb underage drinking in Shelton. Jason is a columnist for the Shelton Weekly, for which he writes on health and safety matters as well as quality of life issues in Shelton.

Jason is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration, which he received from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Boston College.

A lifelong Shelton resident, Jason lives on Coram Avenue in the house where his grandfather, former Shelton Mayor Vincent Tisi, Jr., grew up.
